The laser whitening is capable of restoring lost whiteness and brilliance to teeth and removing deep discoloration and pigmentation. A safe, painless technique with no side effects, it can also be performed by those suffering from gum disease and sensitivity. Laser teeth whitening acts and is effective only on natural enamel; therefore, in the presence of dental restorations, prostheses or capsules these will not be damaged but neither will color changes. The first visit is essential to assess the feasibility of the treatment; after that, the shade of white of one's teeth and the shade we want to achieve is identified with the help of the color scale. In case one's shade results too dark, impressions are taken for making personal dental masks, which will serve as home preparation and possibly post-treatment maintenance. After thorough hygiene is performed, we move on to the actual whitening phase: an initial photo is taken, a protective compound is applied to the gums, and a whitening gel is applied to the teeth , which with the help of the laser works for about 15 to 20 minutes. Asingle whiteningsession is sufficient to achieve the desired result. Afterwards, masks are prepared and given to the patient to be used for post-treatment home maintenance.
