The patient had an aching pain around the second molar tooth that had previously been reconstructed with an amalgam filling and was filled with cavities.
Treatment and results
Once the control X-ray had been performed, we realized that the pain was caused by a wrong devitalization. Then went on to retract the tooth in a correct way, removing the old amalgam and the underlying caries at the same time. Subsequently, we took a dental impression so as to create and apply a full ceramic inlay.
