Dental implant on the second premolar tooth

Patient’s request

The patient wanted to rehabilitate both functionally and aesthetically the second premolar tooth, which had a prosthetic crown filled with caries.

Treatment and results

After removing the crown and taking an X-ray, the residual stump was assessed as completely carious, in addition to being badly devitalized. The tooth was extracted and in the same session an implant was inserted along with some regenerative material, in order to improve osseointegration. After three months, the correct amount of time to fully recover, the implant was restored with a long-lasting prosthetic crown that gave a perfect result in terms of function and aesthetics.
