NO MORE FILING AND DENTURE-EFFECT MATERIALS. TODAY, VENEERS ARE MADE WITH PLATINUM FOR AN UNPRECEDENTED NATURAL EFFECT.
Dental Veneers are an increasingly popular treatment in almost every dental office and are applied to correct any aesthetic defect related to tooth shape, color and positioning, achieving incomparable results compared to other dental techniques.
Today the market offers a variety of veneers, obviously not all of them are made the same, just as the materials used can vary significantly from practice to practice.
We can generically divide dental veneers into 3 categories:
- Industrial veneers
- Semi-industrial veneers
- Handcrafted veneers
Industrial veneers, as the term suggests, are made by real dental manufacturers: they are almost all American-made and are the ones that give the worst results in terms of aesthetics and function.
These are prepackaged veneers; the patient can only choose the color and shape, but it is not possible to recreate the effects and transparencies typical of natural teeth, as they are made by machines that mass-produce huge quantities of standardized veneers. The end result is always very similar to that of a denture, regardless of the shade of white used. Over time, moreover, these veneers, because of the technique required to apply them, can cause severe gum inflammation and permanent hypersensitivity. Semi-industrial veneers are qualitatively superior to industrial veneers, but they too have severe limitations in terms of aesthetics and application.
They are fabricated by special machines called CAD CAM, often available directly in the dentist's office, and are able, through a digital impression and a 3D computer study, to produce the final prosthetic restoration in very few hours. The disadvantage of veneers made by CAD CAM lies in their method of application: having a thickness of about 1 mm, they require filing down the natural tooth, which is necessary to avert the big horse tooth effect.
It is, therefore, a rather invasive procedure as the tooth structure is not 100% preserved; furthermore, the aesthetic effect is also not the best as the machinery, although highly advanced, is not able to perfectly replicate the typical characterizations of the natural tooth.
In contrast, the handcrafted veneers I use are the ones that can give the highest esthetic performance and durability over time.
My dental veneers are made entirely by hand by the clinician and dental technician and reach thicknesses of 0.4 mm; their application does not require removal of the tooth substance, and the procedure can also be approached without sedation.
The aesthetic effect is perfectly natural and customized. The handcrafted veneers are hand-painted one by one to achievethe translucencies of the natural tooth, and are fired in a kiln along with pure platinum leaves to ensure maximum fracture resistance once applied to the tooth.
Once cemented they will become one with the tooth and, thanks to their infinitely thin thickness, will not be felt or alter speech and eating habits in any way. In addition, they do not require any replacement over time; the color will not discolor or stain no matter what foods and drinks are consumed on a daily basis.
