Laser Teeth Whitening

Laser Teeth Whitening: the perfect smile is everyone’s dream! Having beautiful, healthy and white teeth allows you to feel more confident in communicating with others.

Nowadays, numerous whitening techniques are available, from do-it-yourself home-based techniques to professional ones performed in dental offices. Among the latter, the most used is that of dental bleaching using LED or plasma lamps; however, it is not the safest and most effective technique.

In fact, for a few years, the use of laser as a whitening technique has been introduced in the dental field, capable of giving significantly better results than the classic lamps. In aesthetic dentistry three types of lasers are generally used: diode, Argon and CO2 lasers. Among these, the diode laser is the one that offers a better whitening effect, as its energy favors the penetration of the product within the dental tissue with greater intensity.

Laser Teeth Whitening is a safe, painless technique, and does not present any contraindications.

For this reason it is also recommended for those who suffer from dental sensitivity. It has more lasting effects than traditional lamps and is the fastest, most innovative and most effective way to obtain whiter teeth. In addition to bleaching, the laser can remove the deeper discolouration and pigmentation of the teeth.

The first visit is essential to assess the feasibility of the treatment. After a careful examination of the mouth, checking hygiene, the presence of any cavities, devitalizations and / or pathologies that would preclude its operation, the whiteness of the teeth is identified with the aid of a color scale and the one you want to reach. Afterwards, some masks will be prepared to be used for post-treatment home maintenance.

The treatment

A dental hygiene session is required before the whitening phase. A protective compound is then applied to the gums while a special bleaching gel is applied to the teeth. The use of the laser activites and intensifies the action of the gel, which penetrates deeply into the enamel. The product is left to act for 15/30 minutes depending on the shade. During treatment, both doctor and patient will wear special glasses to protect eyesight.

Laser Teeth Whitening (bleaching) is performed in a single session and, once finished, it is advisable to refrain from using coffee, tea, tobacco, particularly colored foods and beverages that could stain the enamel.
