- COOKIES POLICY -

As indicated in the banner that appears on the home page, this site uses Cookies.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text strings that sites visited by the user send to the user's terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites the next time the same user visits. In the course of browsing a site, the user may also receive on his terminal equipment cookies that are sent from different sites or web servers (so-called "third-party cookies"), on which some elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) present on the site that the same is visiting may reside. Cookies, usually present in users' browsers in very large numbers and sometimes also with characteristics of wide temporal persistence, are used for different purposes: performing computer authentication, session monitoring, storing information about specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, etc.

What are the main types of Cookies?

The May 08, 2014 order of the Privacy Guarantor distinguished two macro-categories: "technical" cookies and "profiling" cookies.

Technical cookies.

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such a service" (see Article 122(1) of the Privacy Code). They are not used for any further purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies where they are used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same.

According to current legislation for the installation of such cookies, prior consent of users is not required.

Profiling cookies.

Profiling cookies are aimed at creating profiles related to the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same in the context of web browsing. Due to the particular invasiveness that these devices can have within the private sphere of users, European and Italian regulations provide that the user must be adequately informed about their use and thus express his or her valid consent. They are referred to in Article 122 of the Privacy Code where it provides that "the storage of information in the terminal device of a contractor or user or access to information already stored is permitted only on the condition that the contractor or user has expressed consent after being informed in the simplified manner referred to in Article 13 Privacy Code, paragraph 3″ .

Some examples

Session and Persistent Cookies

Session Cookies contain the information that is used in your current browser session. These cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Nothing is stored on your computer beyond the time you use the site

Persistent Cookies are used to maintain information that is used in between accessing the website, or used for technical purposes and to improve website navigation. This data allows sites to recognize that you are an already known user or visitor and adjust accordingly. "Persistent" cookies have a duration that is set by the website and can vary from a few minutes to several years.

Cookies from the Site Owner and third parties

We would like to point out that it is necessary to take into account the different entity that installs cookies on the user's terminal, depending on whether it is the same operator of the site that the user is visiting (which can be succinctly referred to as the "publisher" or "Owner") or a different site that installs cookies through the former (so-called "third party").

There will thus be:

Owner's Cookies, created and readable by the site that created them.

Third-party Cookies, which are created and readable from domains outside the site and whose data are stored at the third party.

In order to operate such data collection our partner may need to place a cookie (a short text file) on your computer. For more information regarding this type of user taste-based service resulting from third-party cookies, you can visit the third-party sites at the links below.
